ABOUT THIS PROJECT

The Gillespie Field iPark project featured the development of a new 36 acre site and 350,000SF manufacturing facility. The new 1,080 foot long concrete tilt-up structure boasts 30 foot clear height and is being partially occupied by global aerospace manufacturing company GKN Aerospace. C2 also built the interior office and manufacturing space for GKN. This building is uniquely positioned with a private medium voltage electrical service and main electrical gear already furnished and installed throughout with a 17,000 amp capacity.

The site required significant storm drainage requirements with a massive bio retention basin that was strategically located on the site in an area that was otherwise unable to be built upon due to the proximity to the adjacent Gillespie Field airport runway. Significant improvements occurred along the project’s frontage inclusive of a new traffic signal at one of the site entries. The site is fully landscaped and furnished and the building features unique architectural features with soaring steel canopies and aluminum perforated panels. Gillespie Field iPark is truly a desirable destination for modern manufacturing and distribution and C2 was proud to deliver it and facilitate the associated expansion for GKN.
